CLEAR LAKE — A Mason City man is dead after a wrong way accident on Interstate 35 near Clear Lake over the weekend.

The Iowa State Patrol says they were called at 11:19 Saturday night to the 194 mile marker of the interstate for an accident. They say 56-year-old Glen Hemming of Mason City was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic. A semi driven by 40-year-old Hussein Ali Haidar of Burnsville Minnesota was traveling southbound on the interstate, with the vehicles colliding.

Hemming was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which is still under investigation by the State Patrol.
